Meet Haruka and Miyuki, newcomers to the mainstream, but no strangers to the spotlight.

The two – both born in 1989 – met as college students in Tokyo; they were both part of a music society in school and instantly clicked with each others vibes. Made of up just lead vocal Haruka’s guitar and Miyuki’s keyboard, their sound is a simple folk-influenced mix of pop and alt. rock.

After releasing three demo tapes, the two came out with their first E.P., ““Kyogensha ga Yoake wo Tsugeru. Bokutachi ga, Itsumademo Damatte Iru to Omou,” in Nov. 2012, and are fresh off the release of “Mayonaka no Kotoba wa Aoi Doku ni Nari, Niburu Sekai ni Hiyari to Sasaru,” which came out Mar. 2013. Perhaps slightly long-winded for non-Japanese listeners, but hey, it’s the music we care about. The two were also selected as one of iTunes’ “New Artists 2013,” an initial display of recognition that we at MTV 81 have no doubt will lead to bigger and greater things.

Stay dialed in for more on this rising duo.
